the tall skyscrapers were vivid under the lovely morning sun.

on a bright sat morning, 5 of us woke up early n set off to batam~! the ferry ride is a short yet enjoyable one. =)

the weather was good then. =) there are many hawkers selling fruits on the streets. but the varieties r limited. I can only find mangoes, mangosteens & snake-skin fruits (which i've not seen b4).. *wonder how it tastes..* lelong lelong~ wana buy mangoes? haha~ =P

can u see the a&w sign?! =P its was a disappointment tt we din get to eat.. =( they dun wana sell the combo meals as there was no more fries.. sobs~! in the end we ate nasi ayam penyet. =P nice hot chilli.. & its only abt S$2!!

the wedding of wilson & yvone took plc last sun. congrats to the newly weds.

the banquet was a nice gathering for us too. there was an interesting spread of food tt evening. one of the dishes was wasabi prawns with mango. din noe tt prawns, wasabi n mango can combine tog as a dish. haha~ unique taste. =) there was also this black ink squid noodles. victor said nice. i think the dessert is still the best. the finale of the night, mango pudding. =)

muffin baking time.

cooking is like doing chemistry. the taste and outcome of the food depends on using the right amount of the right type of starting materials and having a good control of the reaction time and process. the only distinction between cooking and doing chemical synthesis is that the one gives off aroma (well if you like the food you prepare) while the other dun (hmm unless u like the smell of solvents?). =D

i believe that food can cheer ppl up. being able to relish in the fruits of labour after working hard in the kitchen.. wats more to ask for? =P i rmb a famous chef once said that its not the taste and look of the dish tt appeal but the happy faces of the ppl who ate the food. =) do u think so too?

the choc chip muffins r my 1st trial. choc is an all-time fav rite? hohoho~ wana try? =P the invaluable feedback from family and frens gave me courage for my second attempt. this time i did strawberry muffins which i tried to modify from the choc chip muffin recipe. fruits muffins may offer a healthier choice; got more fibre (with fresh strawberries! ) n vitamins? haha.. which one do u prefer? =)

somehow baking makes me feel more composed. perhaps it keeps my mind occupied.

a whole series of feasting this season. burps! thanx to all my frens. =D mb someone needs to send a fatty bom bom to physical training. haha~

buffet feast is my 1st stop. the food variety was so much i got difficulty choosing what to eat, let alone the desserts. hohoho.. its quite fun stuffing ingredients for the kueh pai tie n then stuffing them into the mouths, the juices and sauces of the veg just oozed out. haha~ can u imagine tt? =P sebrina n i really like the lotus root soup*. tasted just right though a bit oily. sebrina continued to surprise me with the big slice of mango cake. my stomach almost stuffed to the brim liaoz.. sebrina said i looked disturbed when the waitresses sang the bday song. actually i was disturbed by the cake size n not their singing skill. haha.. hope they dun get mistaken. =)

* PS: lotus roots are good n nourishing for skin.

i spent a meaningful day back at my alma mater. there was a carnival organised for old folks to eat, play n relax. i brought one old folk to jalan ard. she wasn't v spontaneous with the games but she really liked the popiah! we queued v v long for the popiah. o.O glad she liked it. so sad no popiahs for me.. =(

i felt nostaglic for not having been there for so so long. the sch hall is now air-conditioned. i rmb it used to b the noisy water droplet dripping fans hanging on the walls of the hall. so if anyone got the seating below these fans during the exams they were the pretty lucky ones. haha. its so much better now le. =) i also went back to ntu abt 2 weeks ago. i was so so sad when i found out the polymer lab n computer lab were no longer there le. ='(

anyway i digressed. peter, joanne n i went to a jap restaurant (the name i forgot liaoz). there were a lot of fried food. x_X i dun noe its me having poor appetite or lack of sleep or missing tt popiah in the afternoon.. i din eat much. =( then after tt joanne surpised me with an ice cream basket!! i've been so so craving for ice cream de.. i was at a loss of words.

a surprise from my mentor. =) another round of cakes. luckily not v big.. =) yummy yummy~ just nice for tea break. i rmb we also had the little cakes for sebrina's bday last year. any changes? =)

another round of jap food. =P so hungry after waiting for 20 min to get seated. plus some time to browse thru the menu. highlight of the dinner was the fish-shape waffle ice cream. so kawai-! ^^

pangkor is a sunny fishing island in the west part of malaysia. The place is surrounded by clear waters and sandy beaches. a good plc for relaxing under the hot hot weather.

its a long ardous journey thru the nite. the morning was so early tt the cat and dog were still sleeping soundly. snore!

be embraced by the breeze and the lovely nature.

the poor caterpillar might have fallen from the leaves. or mb the weather was v warm. wat do u think? =)

there is an abundance of seafood on the little island. fresh! =P

more seafood.. burps~ almost every meal contained seafood. delicious but.. o.O is it too much? nope! haha..

getaway trips like such can momentarily bring one away from the reality. returning to the nature & explore the wonders within.

sebrina had her lovely wedding on the last fri of may. happiness was clearly written on her face throughout the day. our xing fu pretty bride~ =) everything went well as planned & the groom had a good time too i hope. haha~ ^^

at the wedding banquet, many good friends, families & relatives came over to give the couples their blessings. apart from our colleagues, bosses & big bosses, there are quite a few familar faces too. ricky, who used to be sebrina's coursemate & my tutor back @ ntu, was the emcee for the night. anne was there too~ =) derek sure had a good time tt nite. toasting from tables to tables. sure enuff he had a tummy full of alcohol. haha.. & sebrina looked pretty happy abt it ar~ hmm~~ mb its free flow, so just bottoms up! cheers.

hope the weds live happily ever after.

its been some time i met up with my bss pals. this time we did trekking @ henderson waves. oh~ then the sun was blazing hot!! luckily i din turn chao da~ i think buying sunblock lotion was a better option than insect repellant lehz~ anyway, its good to return to nature once in a while, and be embraced by the birds, flora and fauna. =)

the plc wasn't crowded too, so its pretty nice to go there. or mb the weather was too unbearable for ppl to go there relax? yupz~ definitely a good plc to have a natural sauna. haha~ =D

i also went for the arts fest opening ceremony some weeks ago. my 1st time to marina barrage! =) its like going on an excursion. we explored the exhibits inside showing how the dams work while waiting for the performance to start. the barrage is actually not v accessible (there was free shuttle service then), & the plc is pretty big & has a lovely view of the sea & the sg flyer in the evening. oh yes, sebrina took her wedding shots there too. =)

last week we celebrated jos' bday @ manhattan. i had OT tt day.. x_X we gave jos a real surprise for the celebration. well, all of us were taken aback. actually i only asked the staff to bring up the bday cake with lighted candles. all of the service crew suddenly popped up in front of us to sing bday song with the cake. the couple beside also wished her. haha, then the guy told the gal he'll celebrate hers like tt too. glad tt jos liked it. =P

oh yes, the alabama smoothie there was great! i dun think it was becoz i was hungry as i sort of lack appetite tt moment, it really tastes good!! leslie tried too & said v nice. oo~ i wana drink the smoothie again. dun need eat dinner. =)

i noe its v late to call my meal lunch at 4pm.. haha~ i was so hungry on my way home!! =X lucky there's no strong food aroma on the train to arouse my hunger even more. & its good to be home afterall. oo~ =)

its been an exact year since i last use the stationeries in my pencil box. =P & apparently only 1 pen out of 3 is working fine. o.O hehe.. yet, its really great to pick up my pencil case & go back to classroom after 1 year of work, Work & WORK~! ya i'm still working if u r wondering.. haha.. my 1st jap lesson is great. info overload, & many assignments & many memorising work to do.. i shall not b lz~ ganbatte~!! the sensei is from hokkaido. & hokkaido reminds me of seafood! ^^ yummy~ =P

after class i went bz searching for some farewell gifts. sales everywhere, yet i was clueless abt what to get.. the abrupt news disclosed during the last meeting shocked almost everyone in the lab. well.. everyone has got to come to terms tt ppl come & go one fine day. thinking of it, its been one year since i started out working after grad too. time flies rite? i'm thankful for the support given by my bosses in this past one year. & i really appreciate them for giving me chance to start out my career in the research line.

after a long search i finally found sth nice~ A pair of mugs packed in a v sweet box. looks like a candy hse like the one in 'Hansel and Gretel' fairy tale rite? =P seems like the catch of the gift is not the mugs but the box. lol. hope my boss can find a cozy plc as home with her hubby in the States. =) the mugs r also pretty though, with some grey cats. meow~ ^^ the other pair has got some floral prints. also looks nice rite? can brew his fav tea in the microwave oven (tts uniquely how my big boss make his drink). =)

this is super super backdated entry.. lolz~ found this when i was browsing thru the folders. & guess what? this gathering took place last june?! haha.. i was wondering for a moment how come it was so so long since we last met up... but its not afterall. haha~ well i guess i'll just update this..

as far as i could possibly rmb, we had lunch somewhere where we played the v v exciting monster monster game.. (its a game in which players need to quickly snap away the cards upon seeing a set of the same monsters. the one with the most sets emerges as the ultimate winner of the game.) so do u think the roughest person won the game? haha~ keep guessing. (*actually i cannot rmb liaoz~ hee~ ^^)

oh we had desserts too~ =P i think i had honeydew sago with ice. haha.. yummy i think~ =P

oh & the colourful donuts~! =P the whole day was practically spent eating & eating.. (we r in the food paradise~! ^^) seem as if all the food r calorie-free huhz~ haha.. i cannot rmb if i had tried hard to shed some pounds after the glutton day, but it was indeed a great time spent. haha~ =D

kl & genting trip

its a nice get-together trip with my uni frens to kl and genting during the good fri & easter hols. =) finally i got to travel further up in m'sia.. lolz~ this may sound surprising to many that the furthest up i travelled in m'sia was jb b4 the trip. haha~ X)

the weather in genting was cold as expected. look at the fog when we got off the bus in the midnite.. brrr~ x_X the day time was much better when embraced by the sun's warmth. the morning glory in the park & many many other flowers blossomed so beautifully. *its blue in colour~!* =) the outdoor theme park is fun (i like the small small ferris wheel~! ^^), but the rain in the late afternoon was a spoilsport. we din play the goldcart in the end. Vroom vroom~~ on our way back to the hotel, we came across some performers doing stunts outside the lobby area. their bodies are so so flexible.. o.O *applauses*

the breakfast the next day b4 we departed for kl was yummy & really filling~! =P look at all the dim sum.. ^^ oooh~~ *r u drooling?* lucky i din ask for a bowl of congee like the rest.. these dim sum was enuff to fill my tummy. hui even ordered spareribs to takeaway~ o.O

kl is nth much but shopping & eating~ =P haha~ on the general note, the trip was fun. like hui said, its not ez to get together to travel now that most of us r in the working force. jiayou everyone. =)

oh anw, i went to the newly opened illuma today. =) in my opinion, the interior is similar to vivo given by the many curvatures and the theme is yet similar to orchard cini. the cini theatre there is operated by filmgarde. my 1st time hearing abt this movie operator. they also have one at kallang there. hmmz~ now there's one more movie-spot @ bugis. =) looking fwd to watch there one day~ =)

celebrated justin's & ying's bdays last week. both so coincidentally took plc @ cafe cartel (but diff locations)!! the s'goon gdns one with psg really seemed as if we booked the whole plc~ we were the priveleged customers~! hoho~ the waiters seemed pretty ethusiastic to serve us bread & sauces. 1st time i felt this way at cafe cartel. lolz~ usu we self-service most of the time.. o.O the ambience was good. hope justin felt good too.. his 1st time patronising lehz~ everyone felt quite amused. haha~

the bishan one with my fellow jc pals had many more customers.. the ambience was also not bad. they even had cny decorations put up. actually i came pretty late due to some unforseen circumstances at work. yet they were so understanding. ^^ esp the bday gal.. ying noes wat i meant ar~ & sheng is finally back fr his exchange programme. i cld only rmb him saying the weather there was pretty unbearable & hence the wear & tear on his winter clothings. how i wish i can go & exp the winter & snow.. & possibly freeze my brain so i dun have to ... (i just want hols~! =P) & he got us these colourful polo tees~ nice rite? ^^ though its not genuine which he said (& anw i cannot distinguish the authenticity.. haha), i truly appreciate it!!

well, the dinners were great afterall.. the atm was lighthearted & relaxing as we cackled jokes together. both the waiters at both outlets anti-climaxed during which the cakes were being served. there's no sense of surprise which was meant to be ultimately~ haha.. hmmz~ o.O at least the cakes tasted yummy rite? =P choc lehz~!!

today is probably one of the v v v rare times i feel tt time passes too fast in the lab. cos both my big boss, boss & little boss not in!! tt means stress- free for one day! ^^ these kinda days are seriously not meant for clearing leave lor. anyway seems tt the public hols fall too nicely on 2009's calendar.. =( i could finally spent a whole day quietly at my desk. of coz still doing serious work~ research is not just abt standing in front of the fumehood nor the characterization equipments all day long.. (tts pretty exhausting even for a healthy young man.. hmm probably..)

anw today is the 2nd day of 2009.. in general, time still heartlessly passes us v v fast.. heartless it mb, but it seems like a indication not to hold on to the past & cherish the present. mb in this way, one can be happier. but its definitely not ez~ o.O anw i watched many ppl wishing for a good 2009 on tv on new year's eve & new year's day.

may the poor gain wealth.
may the sick gain health.
may the evil turn good, eg: the terrorists surrender.
may the earth looks greener.
may the time passes slower.
may the world feels a bit more lovely.

if only one of the wishes which you pick from the above can come true, which one will u pick?

the last week of 2008 is full of food, eating & food & eating~!!! burps~~ festive season= gluttony time? o.O yet definitely a good time to get together b4 we work harder for 2009!! =P

sat: steamboat! with psg @ justin's plc. or post x'mas celebration? hui got her fav 'tan hun' or 'dong fen', sylvia got her fav mushroom (the long thin yellowish kind which i dun noe the ang moh name) & me got my fav hotdog!! hotdogs were quite limited. no more after the 1st round lor... ='( so everyone saved their portions of the precious hotdogs throughout. the feeling is like 'i wana eat u but if i eat u later no more le...' =X the biggest portion is 'tan hun', one pot full of it & hui must b quite happy abt it.

after steamboat & gift exhange we nua ard the hse & watched deuce bigalow: male giggolo. Rob Schneider is not as hilarous as the other shows which he acted in lehz~ but some parts r still funny lahz. still feeling so full.. x_X the rest decided we go liquid kitchen to chill & they said they were no longer full. o.O relaxing time chatting~ =) & the grapefruit juice probably helped me with some digestion. =D

sun: singing session with ssg~! 1st time lor.. after ages!! & its great cos we discovered someone sound like andy lau. wah~ not bad huhz.. & we deduce that andy lau may not b suited to sing 'rooftop'.. haha~ X) hong probably noes wat i mean.

mon: dinner with ying & li. we had gals talk thru the meal. oh yes, we dined @ a shanghainese restaurant. they got special names for some dishes like 'ant climbing up the tree' which is 'dong fen' stirred fried with minced meat & mushroom.. basically i dun find the food any different from local ones.. on the whole i was stuffed again. o.O

tue: bbq & steamboat with colleagues. =) the restaurant always look so packed with customers, but luckily we managed to make reservations. so so hungry after a long day of housekeeping... x_X tucked in ppl!! =P

the ice cream making was quite fun but i doubted i can stuff more into my exhausted stomach. peng was out with his ice cream pancake analogy.. haha.. the 'pancake' was too brittle to be rolled lor. anyway, time passes fast & we still left with a lot of ice cream ingredients (with different flavours). so we decided to dump all in & mix. sounds gross rite? but ended up tasting quite good. lolz~ dun judge the ice cream by its look. haha~ =D

4 consecutive days of food indulgence~!! lolz~ now time for fat purging. =) ganbatte!!

despite the tough economic situation most if not all industries r challenged with, our company still had a wonderful dnd @ ritz carlton last month. the theme of the nite is casino. most ppl look glamourous in tuxedos & suits, dresses & gowns, esp the ang moh co-workers from suntec & the vips.

the setting of the cocktail area is of course casino. ppl crowded ard tables playing black jack & a spinning numbered platform with a ball inside (dun noe the name of the game~ hee). there were bunny gals patrolling ard too. i tot i was teleported to Las Vegas for a moment. (hahaha~ i was still awake.) =D

alrite~ the function was grand indeed, yet spiced up by a really humourous emcee. omg, he's multilingual!! ang moh, mandarin, malay, tamil, hindi, hokkien & so on~~ he even sang a song entitled 'fight to win' (direct translation). haha~ the only pity is he's not good at german.. =X there were many other great performances. one guy sang andy lau's song. he cld mb perhaps probably emerged as champion of the best performance if he sang the theme song of shuang tian zhi zun instead. X)

the food was rather disappointing in view of a 6-star hotel. my colleagues all shared the same sentiments. could it b due to the bad economy? hmmz~ the starter was some deep fried stuff which i deem v v oily.. x_X my favourite dish of the nite is their corn soup. its a v simple soup & the corns were v sweet. =)

a great time for colleagues & loved ones to get together.

family day

went to the zoo after some donkey long years ( i guess the last time i went was during my pri sch days).. my co planned the family day @ the zoo this year & this is the 1st time i participated in co events. =) so i went despite falling sick & being so far away from my home.. o.O luckily got cousin pei~ =)

actually the zoo looks great, beyond wat i expected~ the plc is so well-organised, & the animals so tame.. saw the lion, but no lion roar.. saw the tiger, but no tiger roar too.. haha~ =D & there r a lot of monkeys~!! diff kinds aso.. like spider monkeys, celebes crested macaque ( red-butt mokeys), lion-tailed macaque, orang utans... some r really funny lorz~ =D

met my colleagues when i headed back to the check point to makan. sebrina's the 1st to meet. =) she came after her tuition sessions. we went to explore other parts of the zoo after lunch tog with her mum. the weather gradually transitted from sunny to cloudy & rainy~ wah~~ =X anw, good time it rained.. i was feeling drained & needed a rest alr. all in all, its a great day out!

sometimes, its best to take a breather outside.. =) take in fresh air & feel the sun ( but not to the extent of getting tanned). =X

joyous moments~ yoong gave birth to lil Isabel ystd at 1803h. =) so excited to meet the healthy baby gal!! the delivery took plc @ thomson med, same plc as where i came to this world some years ago... good chance for me too to explore my birth plc during the visit later. yeah~ =D

a couple of good news this week:

- 20th aug marks the end of my work probation & i've managed to pull thru & receive the confirmation letter from yoong. =)

- seat shifted~ finally gone with the long wait.. o.O no more freezing sessions from the monster air con back @ opv! my desk is located at the heart of nano, in front of the common printer & my fumehood. well, i may miss the good times i had @ opv though, the super freezing lab warmed by amiable colleagues. finally & offically part of the nano family!! =)

- confirmation lunch treat from colleagues @ crystal jade holland v. the food is great & filling. peng kept singing praises for the food & location. good times spent tog. =)

small simple actions can make one & the ppl ard feel blessed & joyful. learn to appreciate & cherish & only then may u feel happy or happier. & so my bday wishes.

taiwan fun V @ taipei

haha~ if u tot i've completed my tw updates.. well~~ i STILL haven't.. =X partly due to our super packed schedule tt i've so much to share, partly also due to my laziness... bleah~ =P

our last 2nd day is like a historical tour.. we went to the National Taiwan Democracy Memorial Hall & the National Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. the air was so fresh! we woke up v early in the morning~ *yawns* the scenary is v nice too. the displays r interesting, like some old newspaper reports & some old pics.. Pretty educational. while at the later hall, we noticed a group of lil kids on excursion. soo CUTE!! lined up like toot toot train. i guess they shld b from pre-school. dun think i had chances of excursion during my pre-school days back then.. oh well..

after the tour, we went to taipei 101.. actually din do much there.. its just a v tall building. we headed on to wu fen pu (a wholesale shopping mkt) as our next stop.. lunch was at beard zhang. their braised meat rice is the recommended dish. look at tt.. do u feel hungry? =P i just felt tt i was eating rice dumpling.. lolz~ =D shopping there was super exhausting.. no resting spots de~ our legs were all breaking apart.. x_X but then its all worthwhile as we brought more barang barang back to hotel.

last day @ tw.. we had our last min shopping at ximen & last meal for our trip @ pasta bar. the pasta's not bad~ ^^ the penguin card above is the 'ezlink' card which have been with me thru taipei. v cute rite? good bye tw & mb i'll b back one day.

a teacher asked her class to write an essay abt an animal, so a kid wrote this,

'once upon a time, there was a cow on a field. the cow is white in colour, with black patches all over her body. It has 2 big horns on her head...' & the description of the cow goes on & on. after the teacher read the essay, he was simply delighted at how well it was written. As a result, he asked the kid to write another essay, but this time round the topic is abt blackboard.

the kid wrote this, 'there's a blackboard in our class. the teachers love to scribble & explain many wonderful concepts to us on the blackboard. once, a teacher drew a cow on the blackboard. the cow is white in colour, with black patches all over her body. It has 2 big horns on her head...' & again, the story goes on & on, so the teacher is decided to ask the kid to write yet another essay, this time round the essay is abt aeroplane.

the kid wrote this, ' there is an aeroplane that can fly very high. on the plane tt sets right above in the blue sky, one can see many beautiful things on the ground. if u suppose tt i'm done with my tw updates, i've not~!! geehee.. X) we met up with jian wei & adeline for leofoo village theme park~! the weather was sunny yet the wind was super chilling. the merry-go-round we played reminded me of the tw drama 'love contract'. ariel lin & mike he were like prince riding horse with his princess.. soo sweet de lorz~~ oh well...

the theme park has many other v thrilling games like pirate ships & those kind of machines tt made passengers drop from high spots at fast speed. x_X yupz v fun if u have the courage. =) oh & u can feel really young too. hehe~~ =D

in the evening, we went to shilin night mart. their food stalls are set up like our hawker centres; they sell a wide variety of local delicacies, like white bittergourd juice, tw sausage, fried chicky, oyster omelette, smelly beancurd & many many more. hmmz~ sorta miss the food there (except the smelly tofu)... =P

on our trip back from the studio, the cab driver reco us to go Maokong Gondola~! he said that the cable car ride was cheap (ard NT30 if i'm not wrong) & u can get a bird's eye view of taipei & the landscape, so we made plans to go the next morning~! =D the view is pretty breathtaking.

dinner was at 'ding tai feng'~! yummy~~!!! hot steamy xiao long bao!! i like the food there.. *stomach growls* korea's tv crews were shooting drama when we were there~ haha.. though we dun really noe them, but they looked really good. heard from the waitress the drama is 'chang jin' part II, & the actress which took pic with us is chang jin's daughter in the story. how true..? wow!!! X)

taiwan fun part II @ taipei

spent most of my time at taipei~!! woohoo~ =D joanne joined us & we met at ximen. after checking in, we went to eat the famous 'ah zhong mee sua'~! the queue was long & ppl just stood and ate by the shop corridor.. so nice to have a hot bowl of rice vermicelli as the cold wind blows. yummy~! =D

after filling our stomachs, we returned to wash up & get ready for CTV studio for 'I Guess x3' LIVE~!! joseph cheng & milk were among the celebrities who went for the evening. so cool!! X) the cast were v professional. there wasn't any hiccups throughout the show; the only problem was both my legs were v v numb from the sitting position on the floor thru the whole session. argh~ x_X

this episode was shown on channel U on 16th jun~!! u cld have spotted us in the show cos we just sat in front of the cameras. =D okie tts our 1st day back at taipei~! more updates coming up~~ =D

taiwan fun~! part I

life has been happening~! no time for blogging~~!! =X lolz~ okok its an excuse, but well, my life has been fulfilling to-date.. started working right after my return from tw, so give me some time to share.. x_X

went to tw for grad trip with 6 other pretty ladies~! a fun n thrilling exp~! my 1st time taking aeroplanes, my 1st time taking cable car & ferris wheel (Hello kitty theme~!), my 1st time going for tv production~!! =D

we went to hualien right after we reached taipei. the plc is great for nature sight-seeing! the weather was good. we went to several plc like 'tai ru ge' tt has mountains & valleys, river and sparrows (those tt makes bird nests=> drools~).. how nice will it b to live there; everyday i would be able to go stroll & enjoy the breeze & the scenary, away from the bustling urban civilisation~~

our next stop is kaoshiung. its a simple city with quite a few night markets. the marts sell mostly street food, like fried sotong, kueh baulu, fried oyster omelette, chuan chuan (fish cakes in soup), dumplings, smelly toufu (yucks), sugar coated fruits~! i wonder how come taiwanese still manage to maintain there slim figures.. argh~! u'll see me getting fatter day by day.. anyway we also went to a nearby island, gu shan where we got in touch with asia pac ocean!! oh yes, i think the ppl there r v animal friendly too. they sell v cute pets like little pigs, puppies & even hermit crabs~! ^^

we went for the hello kitty ferris wheel at dream mall the next day~! dream mall is known as the largest mall in tw & 2nd largest in SEA ( how come i dun feel so... o.O)~!! anw, the ferris wheel is super cool. haha~ think most gals will like it. its really so cute!! even wheel-chair bound auntie got into the queue. let the pics tell u all. =D

okays~~ just let me clear the spiders 1st.. i hope i din abandon this space for v long ehz.. though i felt so, there's nth much i could do aso. i'm so occupied with sch, i miss normal living w/o labs.. good thing is after my report submission, i can have more personal time, although i'm still living an exhausted life.

so as i have mentioned, there's aso nth much i can talk abt cos talking abt except lab work which is like yuckz.. reminded me of chemical smells, have to b geared up with labcoats, goggles, gloves.. but i cannot deny that lab is on certain degree fun n fulfilling. i've made a couple of wonderful frens from my lab days. like pulling thru the thick n thin tog.. haha.. exaggerating hor?
there's sth i'm looking fwd to becoz of them too. i'll b joining them for grad trip. yay~!!! =D so happy & excited. we planned it v near our fyp ppt & grad nite.. hope it wun b v rush then.. haha~ talking abt fyp ppt & grad nite, i'm feeling really disappointed with the management. y do u have to plan the grad nite the same day as my fyp ppt?!! y? y?? y??? i really have no clues.. & this really make me dun wana go for the grad nite. grad nite is supposed to sorta relaxing last get-tog session with ur course frens. i just feel like nua-ing at home after a tension-filled ppt. it'll b so much hassle to rush from sch, to prep for grad nite after tt. can i regret buying the tix & just go ask for refund? =X

i feel so pampered last fri. the whole day no sch.. okie i skipped a lect (so wat... nanana~~~) lolz.. its a day so diff from all the other days i've been thru recently. i shld specifically say fyp days.. o.O so having a day away from lab is like a luxury..

well.. actually i went back to sch for a while nia.. all for tt access card.. argh~! all because of it i got to travel back to ntu. but at least come to think abt it, nvm lahz.. at least i dun have to hang in sch for whole day kinda affair. hehehe..

so i was in sch for less than an hour..? lolz.. then i went off to meet joanne. & she was late!! well well... i cannot blame her aso... =P anw becoz of this i went to popular bookstore to get some files, listen to music & read some books. i can say some of the books there r really nice!! =) & mb i'll get one of them.. but dun noe if i got time to read anot. =X

after that i went on to meet my e&s fren at bugis. she went to national lib to do research for our project. *guilt-stricken* okok.. i made my effort to go lib aso, but its the next day. hahaha.. anw our assignment was nicely wrapped up & submitted! yipee~! ^^

okie after which i went to meet fuji & josephine. fuji's back from aust~! & she really looked tanned from her diving trip. i din recognise her when we met. i actually bypassed her. wah.. tts really pai seh.. but she's still the same jovial kind. X) i almost forget all the worries. we ate.. talked.. laughed.. its been a great time out. ^^

today's a stinky day!! x_X

had a bad day at lab with no work done, yet going home reeking of poisonous stench. Arr~!! =P wonder who's tt irresponsible chap who contaminated the oven wif wateva hazardous chemicals. lucky the smell din contaminate the whole plc. else i sure kana banned. oh my, i cannot imagine tt to happen to me. x_X

to my horror i found my clothes n lab coat stained with the stench.. o.O i started noticing the smell from my mask, goggles, lab coat, then my clothes & even my glasses. I totally lost my mood to continue my experiment. all i wished for is a pair of fresh new clothes & shower! in the end i left the sch simply w/o any progress ( is equipment booking counted?).. =(

on my way back, i tried to stay away from crowds. each time i breathe i could smell it~! o.O mb u think i'm paranoid, but it really made me tot of the toxic stench making the lab stink & i smell. yucks.. ><

hope tt it'll b fine when i return on mon & tue. arr~ ~~ =X

train incidents

r u someone who take public transport everyday or regularly? i'm sure many at least get to observe interesting incidents happening on trains and buses occasionally. interesting as in u wun expect wat u were seeing or they just dun conform with the general public.

one regular weekday when i was on the train in the morning with quite a number of working ppl on it too, i stood beside these 3 jc students (2 gals & 1 guy). i dun noe if they were apparent but they were speaking relatively loudly (at least that ppl ard can hear clearly).. part of their conversation sounded rather R21.. hmmz~~ in a morning ware the crowd flow on trains are pretty high.. kept me ponder for a while.. 'aren't they supposed to be in sch instead of train at tt hour?' i shall not disclose the contents of their conversation coz it may sound unpleasant.. haiz.. no wonder critics keep holding discussions about gen y in the media, or i shld say gen z.. =( but luckily i dun come from the sch they come from.. hehe~

was tied down with some family matters during which i wasn't in a mood to pen my blog. these series of events made me think deep. life is just like facing periodic waves. sometimes we get ourselves to the top of the world, the next moment we transit to the bottom of a pit. the frequencies may not b in our control but at least we can still manipulate the amplitudes or the degree of impact of these events. somehow or rather we hav to get over the incidents one fine day rite? yeah ganbatte!

today is mid-autumn.. really miss those days when i played lanterns with my bros and cousins. we wld join in the fun of making lanterns and lighting them along the alley of shophouses, making gigantic candles.. of course eating and 'lim teh'. no more such pleasures now.. mid-autumn eat mooncakes only.. oh plus rushing my preparation for group work tmr.. =P

okie get back to serious work & happy mid-autumn to all wor. =)

last week is a squeezy week at sch. cos there's this freshie recruitment drive & pasar malam at north spine. & being a 'northerner', no choice lor.. everyday sqeezing thru the crowds & hearing background music inside LTs.

dun noe if i shld feel good being approached by the recruiters.. i maybe anticipating them to talk to me because this shows i'm much younger. haha~ but this anticipation comes with the expense of my lect time or lunchie time or nua-ing break, oh & the waste of their breath (they choose to talk to me one). hehe.. but i also felt a bit bad giving them a unbothered look & walking off. but hey y every year this drive has to b held at the walkways of north spine? argh~! dun understand sia.. so plenty of space at other parts of the campus rite..? o.O

dun noe if tts causes a crowd drift to can a also.. or can a is just always so crowded all year round? & given the high food demand, i wonder when the quality of the food supply will improve.. oh well~ seems tt every year i always give the same opinions. tt means probably no change shall be expected. hahaha~

oh manz~ back to sch again. really mon blues~ y all my class everyday so early one? 0830am..!! taboleh tahan. lucky the weekends saved me thru the tormenting weekdays. been a great outing with my bss pals at settlers. my 1st time there~ initially we all wondered how come so ulu one? then empty one (no customers).. mb we were there too early? after we settled down one of the staff came with the news tt we had to leave early cos all seats booked. stunned sia~ x_X lucky later they clarified tt its false alarm. phew.. =P

so we started with our 1st game- bloko. it was a nice warm-up. beginner wen eventually won the game. wah seh.. is this wat ppl says as 'beginner's luck'? i was almost there alr.. agagaga~ =P

food food~!! smells nice but taste ?? ermz u noe lah ar.. X) this is my fish & chips.

this is the best game of the day: UglyDoll!! really cool wor!! we all luv the cute monsters: one-eye, three-eye, blue, green, grey so many kinds~~ =D so exciting with everyone shouting 'ugly ugly ugly!' & the cards r gone even b4 u blink ur eyes. n u noe who's the roughest after the game too. haha.. not me of course!

here's a funny game too.. i forgot the name, but its a monkey game during which we need to project the monkeys up to the tree in order to earn bananas. haha.. the green monkeys really like promoting milo drinks. hahaha~ =D

my summer vacation!!'s ending~ left this weekend.. well, i'm fine with going back to studies.. but i'm really dread doing my fyp... argh!! if only someone can understand my tong ku sia.. i noe i'm being emotional because i hate the prof.. i felt so cheated taking up his fyp! ><

anw, final year of study le.. must brace up & stay happy. dun noe if time will b lesser by then.. dun noe if i can still come online blogging & chat as often as b4.. clueless abt my future plans too. further studies? study what? work? do what work? engineering or non-engineering? ahhh~! take a break? go on a tour? i better not think so much yet.

chim task hor? so i decided to use recollections of the remarks of my families & frens about me.. hey peeps, i'm not weird okie~!! =P

1) i'm a nap lover. i can take morning nap, afternoon nap, evening nap all in one day tog with my regular slp time.

really dun understand y there r ppl who r simply tired but unwilling to let the body take a break.. poor eyes rite? gotta b soo strained.. 'a good rest is essential for a longer journey ahead. ' so sleeping's nvr a waste of time okie~!

PS: napping only apply when i'm free from work, studies & insomnia. x_X

2) a snickers bar is a good lunchie for a busy day. ermz~ sounds unhealthy but it really saves the hassle from going to queue up for food rite, esp during peak hours..? plus i dun get to eat choco bars often now with my braces on.. =(

3) i HATE garlic but i dun reject garlic bread unless they r really raw & the stinky smell fills the air.. i always dun understand y most of the stir-fry dishes need to add garlic as part of their ingredients.. x_X

4) i HATE ginger but i dun reject ginger soup. perhaps my mum adds enuff sugar to cover the strong taste.. erm~ its good to ease the discomfort of a bloated stomach though! =D

5) i keep a compartment in my wardrobe for my soft toys but all of them r in wrapped-up conditions. well mb u & me dun find this weird, but jack apparently does. o.O he sounded agitated upon hearing shuzhen's hamtaro being kept in plastic wrappers. er dun understand sia~~ me weird or jack?

6) i dun like to eat pork NOT becoz of its taste, looks, smell & blah blah blah~ when i was young i read abt a book abt the stupidity & laziness of pigs, hence i dislike pork dishes believing tt i wld become pig-like one fine day. soon after as i grow up, it becomes a practice naturally.. but the strange thing is i'm ok with char siew.. o.O

milky run

1st july was a charity day~! joined the milk run as mentioned the last time. the day was apparently not blazing hot kind like the past few days~ ^^ so nice.. dun hav to get tanned~ hah but woah~ the response was so overwhelming with so many youngsters & the atm was so so young.. o.O anw i played a part in this too~ =D

anw we were there too early cos of the shuttle bus service timing.. x_X some of us even came with empty stomachs.. x_X lucky there were makaning booths.. vivi n i bot ice tubes to cool ourselves~ ShioK Arr~!!! we settled down at a nearby bridge & started stoning~ dun noe if anyone has hibernated. o.O the management cld have put the bus services to a later timing. ohz well~~ soon after the blueeeZ came over to evacuate the stonies from the bridge (PS: the bridge is perfectly safe) for the track use. so we moved on to find another better spot. lolz~

'Time passes fast, birds fly high...' Yipee! finally the run started. Yet due to the enormous crowd, we started at the other end of the carpark far far away from the start point.. it seems as though a throng of ants zooming toward a sweet pit.. er~ weird analogy hor? haha..

we were finally freed to jog after walking quite some distance. during the run, i met some interesting ppl:

1) tourists- they looked at us (the milk runners) amusingly. so did us! y dun the tourists wana travel on the paths less taken?? ermz~~ no sense of security or wana feel some sweat & heat? hmmz~ x_X

2) the not-so-enthu sch kids- this particular grp of gals jogged with their sch skirts on.. o.O will tt look more hip? okie new trend perhaps.

3) the highly-enthu sch kids- this grp of kids had no sense of safety.. wanting to surpass other runners at the expense of running near the river edges.. this is not competitive run... o.O

i enjoyed being greeted by the green field the most.. so spacious~~ so unrestrictive~ ~~ felt really good!! ^^ well actually the run dun seem really long perhaps due to the scenaries ard... keke~ anw its good exercise! X)

Arghh~!!! booOOO!! i was so pissed off when i was travelling home lah. this so the buai-zi-dong person, rushed into the train & took the empty seat beside me in a sitting posture as shown.

PS: some more his pockets r filled like balloons kind. seh~~ so space invading!

arrr~ y got ppl like to sit like tt one?? comfortable meh? *really dun understand* so i tried observing ard the part of the cabin ware i was situated, all the guys were sitting down with same posture (probably at a smaller angular position)... o.O not discriminating but tts wat i observe.

thinking tt ren yi ren, such things r common in trains wat, guess wat?? he started taking his tuna bread out to eat, on a TraiN at KnocK-OfF TimE!! x_X the smell was urghh~~~ & he tried to act as though he's not eating when the no-food sign is jus in front. hellooo~ ~ ~~

y did 179 travel so slow?? some more for the 2 consecutive days i was travelling back.. if not i cld hav caught the earlier train.. ><

the memorable 5 mths

internship ended on 8th june... it seems so diff comparing the 1st & last day of my ia term..

1st day: felt lonely~ no one looked familiar.. no one fr my course.. felt v yi ge ren... in a room which is located at an end of the whole office, i read 'today' papers 3 consecutive times (if not more than tt ba o.O)~~

last day: the bonds with the ppl there n the interns turned ripe.. lolz~ there's a v sweet gal who made us oreo cheese cake! though i cannot really take cheese, still showed some support since she had put in lots of effort. X)

anw, like a blink of an eye, the 5 mths jus passed so fast~ i think i will keep those fond memories ware we went lunchie & all the intern-home shelter sessions. take care peeps~! ^^ look fwd to more gatherings with u!! =D

had a wonderful BiRtHdAy celebration for shiva 2 weeks ago.. the ambience was supposed to be good, but somehow there's r too many ppl tt evening.. o.O shld i say with too many hyper teenage gals ard, the whole plc sound sorta turned into a mkt plc.. x_X

well, the food served were really satisfying though.. intially we tot tt the food wun b filling.. burps~ dun b deceived by looks.. we felt so bloated.. ^^ mud ooze is one of the desserts u must definitely try even u are filled to the brim. no chocolate lovers can resist its temptations!! =P

another weekend's here... is it a blessing tt time passes fast or the otherwise? food for thought.

anw last weekend was a pleasant one. =) had the chance to laze ard the hse~!! watched tv like a marathon, caught multiple naps which seems like i haven't had any for a long long time.. shiok ahz! yipee! power recharged! =D

spent another day of enjoyment with my PSG.. haha.. we went 'tkss'! think i've lost touch with k-songs for quite some time becoz:

1) i'm not a regular radio nor mp3 listener;
2) my last time to k-song is last year dec... x_X

had a wonderful dinner with jo 2 weeks ago when i was still in the midst of intense rpt writing.. this meet-up really refreshed my mind~ felt good taking a break off my rpt.. X)

for a moment today (during lunch), i felt like a tourist (vivi said so jus becoz i went ard taking pics). seems tt i've landed in another country, yet i'm still in the red dot of the world map. anw for all ia lunches so far, today i travelled the furthest; i went to little india! =D

lunch was v good today~! i tried sth new. we went to komala's to makan. the food menu is long until changi (haha~ exaggerating) though its a vegetarian restaurant. if u think they only sell indian food, u r wrong! they got chinese dishes too (according to my food guide they r yummy too).. but it'll b pretty weird for me to travel so far, go to indian restaurant to eat chinese food rite? nah~ of course i'll take the order of InDiAn FoOd with the best advices from my food guide~!

this is rowa thosai, a crispy veg pancake-like or prata-like (watever u think it is) dish tt goes with curry, tomato or coconut sauces. hmmz.. haha due to my short term memory i cant really recall the exact terms of the latter 2 sauces, but i really luv the tomato one! yummy yummy~! initially i tot it wun b able to fill my stomach cos prata is like dessert to me. but this is definitely not! ever since a v v long time, i din feel hungry throughout the whole afternoon. so shiok~!

after lunch, we took a short stroll ard the plc.. and look at this shophouse, so well decorated with posters huhz~ =) popped by mustafa aso.. the salespersons spoke like they wun ever get thirsty.. sure in good working spirit wor~! o.O

after work, the weather seemed really good. yeah~! finally went for my jog! so refreshing~~ so good! the trees, the birds, the riverside & the rugby boys... hehe... X) anw, simply said, today is a fulfilling day. live everyday to the fullest!!

haha~~ hmmz has it been quite a while since i last blog? still okie rite? hehe~ hmmz where did i last stop? where shld i start?? X)

well i'm still the same old me (so to my dear old frens no worries u still can recognise me~ hah!) and mayb hmm gained half a pound or more.. x_X i din manage to go for moi weekly jog last weekend~!! sobs.. all due to the rainy weather + some persistant bacteria still treating my throat & nose as their playground.. arghhh~~

anw there's a movie coming up- '200 Pounds Beauty'. woah~ if this story is really true, i think it will save many many obese kids from running health risk probs with BMI shooting beyond the max value for recording. watched 'RX for survival' documentary, which talked abt global health challenge. on 1 end of the world there r kids facing malnutrition, on the other end kids facing overnutrition.

kids facing malnutrition: deficiency of vital nutrients like vit A & B3 led them to night-blindness & rashes respectively.

kids facing overnutrition: totally ignorant of the high-risk diseases. obese parents dun understand wats wrong with their obese kids.. o.O vicious cycle. (their av 1 meal = my av 3 meals!!)

felt quite heart-wrenching while i watched. how will the world become better? there r too many many vast differences at different parts of the world, jus like on 1 end with India enduring the unbearable 40°C, there's other with taiwan fighting the sandstorm.

there r many many things we cannot avoid, but there r still many many things we can do to make our lives better. its a blessing to b living healthy on this earth, receiving a brand new day each morning. stay alive, live alive! =D

one day, i hope to travel to the edges of the world, giving hope to those in need. ^^

today may b a bad day, but somehow i'm happy & full of satisfaction. =D

i was rushing for tuition in the afternoon & the weather turned really bad. the sky was filled with dark clouds & the wind was strong. i ran all the way to the bus stop & all i cld do was to see the bus driving past me. o.O ominous weather? beats me~ =(

finally got onto the next bus & came the heavy downpour.. somehow i realised the bus accelerating once the rain poured (beats me again, shldn't the driver hav driven faster b4 the rain?? o.O) anw, aso better lah, coz there's a panicky gal in the bus. the strong gust of wind splashed the raindrops rite onto my face once i alighted. my shoes & end parts of my pants were badly soaked.. soo uncomfortable!! x_X

finally i reached my destination. slightly late, but the mum was really forgiving.. phew~ =D but i encountered another big prob- fixing the internet connection.. my 1st time~! tried to figure out for quite some time but to no avail.. but i need to stay firm, so i decided to call up the helpdesk to see if there r other possible underlying probs. & yeah~ i'm rite!! dun noe if i'm lucky, i managed to restore the internet connection for them! yeah~! so happy!! =)

thereafter i guided my tuitee gal with one of the tasks for her botanist proj.. its like ages ages since i last did tt lor.. x_X anw, i sketched a water lily for her.. free-handed w/o using eraser throughout.. i'm amazed by myself really.. mayb it looks ugly, but she dun mind.. keh~ alrite. ^^ actually i tink i still pass the mark (cos i still can tell its water lily).. so proud of my art work! =D

yeah! wonderful fruitful day, perhaps cos it wasn't as screwed up as wat might seem to happen. haha~ i feel blessed. =)

oiyishi~!! this is dorayaki (a mini one in the pic), a famous jap confection which consists of two small pancake-like patties wrapped around a filling of sweet red bean paste. a perfect snack for tea break or whenever ur mouth itches for foood~ & its doraemon's favorite too! *grinz*

simply delightful.. the ones i got from muji, yummy! there r other interesting snacks too, but this one is really commendable. patties r soft, jus like melting in ur mouth and as u bite on the paste, u can still feel 1 or 2 beans getting smashed btw ur teeth... haha.. try it~ =)

hmmz~ life's been usual for the past few days with occasional events here & there.. occasional events consist of *ahem* ahz* ehz* ah...choo* lolz.. okie lah, shall stop keeping suspense~ actually aso nth much; jus tt cny was ard the corner tts all. there was 2 staff lunch for cny celebration; 1 within dept & 1 for the whole co. enjoyable sessions~! food~!! yummy~!!! haha.. i may b glutton-like , but who will restrain themselves in the critical state of hunger? oops.. *blushing* but i dun think i ate a lot rite? i only hav 1 serving leh.. =) at most if i've grown fat after cny, i jus go exercise lor.. haha~ rite? rite?

anw, there was high asset turnover rate thru the weekends. Sales~!!! beware of the temptations in shopping malls okie~ dun fall into traps & burn ur pockets.. =P but the fact is, many jus enjoy getting their pockets burnt (hmm am i one of tt many?).. shld b okie to spend as long as u make the worth of wat u buy.. but many ppl like to buy & buy, stack & stack in the wardrobes, cupboards, storerooms & eventually, to the garang gunis.. i hope i'm not.. o.O

weekends!! i shld b feeling happy becoz of this but somehow i sense tt my weekends will b as long as or even longer than the weekdays.. x_X need to complete my assignment!! =P if not i'm going to look stupid in front of my sups again (my looks r toot enuff already *sobs*) ..

wats more miserable is i'm empty handed from the past 2 days of shopping!! the lady boss din reserve tt last piece of skirt for me!! i told her i'll come back again lor!! sobs~! is this an indication tt there'll b a better investment ahead for me or tt i shld b more thrifty? mayb~ but i better erase this skirt memory from my mind, if not i'll b really agitated!! *hmph*

coming to think abt this, i realise i actually hav many new clothes at home. but most of them jus remain in the plastic carriers as they are from the last time i bot them home. keke.. no wonder my wardrobe nvr got revamped. no wonder i keep thinking i got not enuff clothes to wear. no wonder i look toot cos my current clothes cld have been really outdated. i wonder if those 'new' clothes r goin outdated too (i hope not~ x_X).. well well but 1 thing for sure i still wana stock up more skirts (currently only living on 1 denim skirt).. haha~! but 1st need to gather funds.. any kind hearted souls out there? =)

the 1st week of attachment has passed!! how shld i put it? i'm neither restless nor tired, neither happy nor sad, neither excited nor cant b bothered. simply said, i tink my feelings r getting numb.

for the past week, i've made many new frens. none of them was from my course, but they r really nice & outgoing ppl. we broke ice pretty fast, perhaps many of us r given plenty lots of opportunities to mingle & interact with one another. my sup seems like leaving me on my own & intends to let this continue for 1 whole month!! everyday, i jus sit in front of the computer reading articles. my eyes r really turning in circles.. pls believe tt i can do more than merely lit research!! lets all stay positive for now. =)

today is the 2nd day of a brand new year.. *sigh* goin to age another year~ will i grow up, or not? both i hope; i wish to grow up coz my aging parents need me & i really wana ease their burden.. on the other hand, i dun wana face the ugly world outside as i turn older.. it really wears ppl out.. =P guess i'm spouting nonsense now, cos no one on earth evers veto the aging process, so lets all face the cruel reality bravely!! x_X

1st jan has always been a spring-cleaning day for my hse.. while i planned to read comics ystd though (i noe i'm lz), i cant bear seeing my parents cleaning the plc when i'm idling ard. i eventually shifted my butt away from my chair & helped out. scrubbed the windows, wiped the desks & tables, changed the bedsheets, cleaned the floor.. *pant pant* do u tink this will help shed some fats off from my belly? lolz.. but 1 thing for sure, i realise my hse was dusty, but now spick & span (with my help *putting a little credit for myself*)! =D

i tink spring cleaning is good; other than getting a cleaner & comfy environment, u may discover little surprises for urself when browsing thru the old stuff u had, like retrieving sth u tot u had lost or bringing back the fond memories.. isn't tt wonderful? =) mayb at this time, u mayb triggered by me to move away from ur com too & zeal for some hse keeping? lolz, mayb~ o_O

anw, today is winter solstice!! my breakfast is a bowl of sweet pink glutinous balls in warm coconut sugar syrup soup!! YuMmY~! lolz.. i noe i've a sweet tooth, but its been so~ so~ so~ long since i last ate glutinous balls (which was the last winter solstice fest).. i rmb the last time when working in town, ard last yr's summer hols, i often went to a famous fd ctr to grab a bite. there was this dessert stall which sells glutinous balls tt comes in lots of varieties!! so oiyishi~! but i always took the traditional type, the peanut flavour tt comes in peanut soup. lolz.. not tt i'm a peanut lover, but it really smells good & tastes great!! seduced my tastebuds~! lolz.. actually u can aso ask for ginger soup, which gives another preference which i dun go for.. oops~ =P sometimes, jus a simple dessert like this can brighten up day! =)

in retrospect, the ambitions i used to have seem to be leading me to detriment.. i dun find myself living happily. i tink i'm not leading a happy life. ppl say 'to lead a happy life is to be successful. to be successful is to work hard & study well.' wat a nice link.. simple words with very very sophiscated idealogies.

this morning was a painful headstart for me. the 1st 4au paper i took really sank my heart to a bottomless pit. 4au!! heavy weightage! how?? i dun want~~ but i cant do anything already.. a subject tt i spent so much time preparing at the expense of other subjects. in the end, i still have so many questions i cant manage to solve. so shld i conclude that i'm stupid? so detrimenting & depressing. i actually broke down b4 i made my way to sch. then now i'm so disturbed that i start writing nonsense here.. argh!!!!!

i still have 4 more papers to go, for 2 more weeks. i really cant imagine what i'll be like at this point of time next week. i think mayb 90% of my brain becomes 'carbonized' (due to lack of oxgyen & energy). argh!!!!!

wat a hectic day of the week~ oh well, tt jus means i need better time management. =P had a whole series of classes from 0830 to 2130h. the longest day i've had in sch since enrolment!! struggling to force my eyes open during my law class. at tt pt in time how desperately i wish i can listen with my eyes shut. ~~fatigue~~ o_O

wat dragged my day was a 3h-workshop. initially i tot it'll b a 2nd round of struggle, lucky i was wrong. i enjoyed the whole session. the speaker was inspirational & humourous; he really drew my attn. *grinz* most importantly, i learnt sth from the workshop. =)

the worst of the day came. y is the buses cramped like tins of sardines at such late hours? 2200h wor! i suppose the lib closes at 2130h so the buses shldn't b tt cramped, but i was wrong again. by the time i got home was already 2330h.. x_X

anyway, life has been v v hectic these days. still, fortunate to have some little time for myself too. last week was a nutritious one. ate 3 cakes in total. wah wah!! i'm putting on wt le.. but this is xing fu de cos i felt loved by dear frens & families. really wana express my gratitude to u all who made me feel so special & cared for. ThAnK yOu!! X)

sch started 2 weeks ago.. building fatigue when there's no constructive outputs.. y?!! this is no good. is it a result from playing too much? i hope not!! =P

not used to the crowds in sch after the 'long' 3-mth hols. let me rank the top 3 overcrowding venues:
1) can a! can the sch kindly do sth to this?! expand the can!! sure enuff its too small to cater to the ntu population. when u choose to set up more schs pls consider the food demand to increase as well. no use renovating the plc when the space is still as small rite?
P.S. food vendors: though there's demand it dun mean u can get away with the food quality.. dun make us feel so reluctant to tuck in at can a..

2) lib 1 photocopy room. this is terrible but expected. a prof is sharing his thoughts wif us, 'y do u(stds) still need hard copy notes with u can access them easily from ur notebks? u r not trying to save the tress!' hey hey, not all stds can afford notebks & even if we can, its soo inconvenient to carry it ard. so heavy & bulky.. well i still prefer the conventional means. =)

3) 179 bus & its bus stops. i wonder wat the authorities will do to ease the situation. all buses leaving the campus looked like cans of densely packed sardines. haha.. wat a tough time squeezing more into these 'cans'..

Happy National Day!

a magnificent view of this sea of red! yeah yeah! ystd was our nation's 41st birthday! happy birthday SiNgApOrE!! this was indeed a historical moment for all; the last national day parade at the kallang stadium. afterwhich the venue will undergo major renovation to transform it into a brand new look.. happy or sad? nostalgic feelings ba.. somewhere so near my hse, somewhere we spent great occasions & events tog like sg youth fest.. X)

well not fortunate enuff to watch the actual ndp live but good enuff to b at the preview already. the atm was better than b4 (the one at padang). mayb cos the crowd was bigger & i got a better view.. yeah! got lots & lots of fireworks- climax of the nite! everyone was so high then! we sang songs & waved the flags tog! we felt soo united.

ever since i went to uni, there r v v little chances to sing national anthem. everytime i heard the song on tv or at such occasions, i would always remember the past sch days when we need to sing everyday except weekends & hols.. everyone would tink tt there's nth special abt it until now when we all no longer get to sing it tt often. the anthem is a meaningful piece indeed. lalala~~ rejoice sg! =)

summer hols part III

1 more week to a new acad year! time really flies.. 3 months of hols seem to pass in the twinkle of eyes, leaving now 5 more precious days.. i mus fully utilize these days b4 i get myself bz again.. o_O

well, my last month of hols was fully packed with work.. 7-day work okie! i finally realise wat exhaustion meant. & the only means to fight against fatigue is to stay happy & positive. anticipating good sales performance everyday & smile more often. think of incidents tt can cheer urself up, like wondering wat food shld i treat myself with during lunch/ dinner.. hehe.. apparently finding good food is not ez though sg is like islandwide.. to me is oceanwide.. =D still need to rack my brains.. haha..

in a nutshell, long-duration work isn't too bad afterall. at least i kept myself occupied instead of rotting at home. i got some pocket money too! yeah! =D recouped all the $$ spent during the gss.. oops.. but also, working can give me great working exposure & i do learn alot from seeing ppl from all walks of life. my worries were unnecessary afterall. haha~ =)

well, jus wana give myself plenty of rest b4 sch starts. 4 more months to my next hols.. will time fly as fast as it kills my summer hols? haha.. we shall see. =)

yummy yummy! the wedding dinner last sat was superb! apart from the food, the ambience & prog of the nite were great! i enjoyed myself, so did the rest i hope! =D

hehe~ as long as there's food ard, glutton-like me will automatically keep myself bz, relishing the food. lucky my stomach was able to contain all the 9 dishes.. hehe~ initially i was a bit worried cos i was wearing a non-elastic dress.. so if my stomach gets bloated will my clothes tear? lucky it din.. phew~ =P hmmz.. my fav dish of the nite, chilled honeydew with coconut milk & sago (above pic)! sounds v fattening with coconut milk rite? haha.. dun wana tink too much since i was at a happy occasion. anyway last dish already mah, dessert lover wun miss out the last dish de! =D v OiYisHi! imagine the fruit flesh & juice flowing smoothly down ur throat, giving u tt refreshing feel. with the sago swimming in ur mouth to give a chewy touch. hehe.. no prob finishing the whole bowl after the 8 dishes b4 tt.. =)

anyway i wun jus keep myself entertained with the food only. hehe! the dinner was a great family gathering as well. with all uncles, aunties & cousins coming together for a happy occasion as such, it created social interactions with one another. at least for me, hopping from table to table chatting & capturing shots (above pic with my 3rd aunt). haha~ hope my other cousins faster get themselves married too so we can hav more such interactive sessions with good food! haha~ =D

fulfilling day II

soon after we were done wif makaning, we bade farewell & i stayed on to meet fuji & jos. happy tt i was able to do some catching up wif fuji as her stay in sg is only a week long! really missed her & gd to hear tt everything has generally been well in aust. =)

we had a gd chat tog; got to noe tt she goes diving & plays golf.. exploring the world of the sea creatures, discovering the wonders of the waters. tts so cool! will i get to try out diving too? =D how abt golf? haha~ mayb when i become a tai tai.. then i can enter tt posh retail outlet wif ease too.. lolz.. X)

fil was with us too. they ordered zi cha for dinner while i drank this v thirst-quenching home-made lemon tea! yummy~ soon after sheng joined us too.. poor guy, came all the way down from home when he already worked long hours in the day.. ur presence is greatly appreciated! guess we all enjoyed urselves at the cafe, playing zong ji mi ma for chocolate milkshake when we also dun understd y cos the drink dun taste bad at all.. perhaps only jos ba, cos she kept saying there's no choc taste in it.. ?? i dun tink so anyway.. hahaha~ the day ended as we strolled all the way to ps. a gd way to burn the fats i consumed early in the day. *grinz*

fuji: hope u can stay cheerful always! keeping urself occupied & enriching urself wif learning new sports is great! at least not wasting time away by nua-ing at home like me. enjoy ur hols in aust wor! take care gal. =)

tired~~ but happy! had a fulfilling day indeed. at least i'm not nua-ing at home like a parasite.. hee~ X)

went for a job interview a v v v posh & classy retail outlet wif cyn & syl. somewhere for a rich man's or tai tai's paradise.. my 1st time exp to such a plc; a dream for commoners to enter wif ease. shld i dream on? hahaha~ =D let me elaborate on the plc: there's a doorman to welcome & thank all walk-ins, many many ladies-in-black (lib) stationed ard. these lib had thick make-ups to look presentable, a walkie-talkie-like device attached to their ears.. to me they look more like security officers more than being sales staff.. felt rather tense not because of the interview but the atmosphere.

okie so i'm asked to sit down at somewhere pretty prominent to wait for my interviewer.. hello dear customers, i'm wearing WhItE!! & there r so many lib ard, y approach me for enquiries?! felt so helpless.. haiz.. finally my interviewer came! she looked no diff from the lib except tt she's in white.. haa~ my interview was a short one.. perhaps i'm not the rite candidate & i'm rite! y do u hav to put on heavy make-up & b v well spoken when the job duties r to package the products or to deliver stocks from store to store? dun seem like a frontline job rite? i guess perhaps its a v classy biz tt explains for. & i dun hav these 2 conditions met too:
1) dun like to put on make-up often as i'm afraid of more pimple outbreaks;
2) cant really articulate well when i jus started putting on braces..
oh well, too bad.. no fate with this 'glam' job.. haha.. =P

but gd thing is cyn intro me another nice job!! =) work plc is near my home & the pay rate is quite gd! *grinz* okie pending for the agency to get back to me.. but i'm neither anticipating for the good nor bad news.. haha.. tink i better give them a call to seek clarifications.. i dun wana make grave mistakes.. =) syl actually got news ltr tt she got the 'glam' job, but she turned it down eventually.. felt a bit ke xi for her cos its a well-paid one, but if tt dun give her the working exposure she's looking for then i tink she made the rite decision too.

its a nice gathering for us too.. haha.. we went to the food fest held there & we gave ourselves a gd treat! there r showcase of many foreign delicacies! yummy yummy!! u can get urself an italian & jap ice-cream & compare the diff in the taste.. haha.. i grabbed myself some korean snacks; a sausage bread & a sausage fries! so crispy & saliva-inducing! esp when the lady spread some korean chili paste & mayo over them, ohz!!! a must-try! =)

new look

revamped look for my blog! yeah! always tot of giving my blog a new look but no constructive actions done. haha.. finally, finally~ hopefully this change has been a gd move. oh yes, its blue- my fav color!! =D

it has been almost a year since i set up my blog. looking back at my past 1 yr of entries, felt really emotional by the memorable events tt took plc; the times spent with family, new & old frens. there hav been many things tt i've gained & lost thru the year. these r jus part of growing up (hav i grown up?).

so which of the gains do i consider to hav made the best worth? hmmz.. i tink tt would b recovering my long lost pri sch frens. i'm really glad to retrieve back all these lost contacts: cyn, syl, hui, yin, lynn, hong, jus, shaun, eric, jian, bin, siong, yi, jing, yong... really elated & i tink i shall give credits to cyn, so coincidental meeting u on street when u were rushing to our pri sch gathering. lolz.. has been years since we all last met. all hav changed, for the better i believe. esp syl, so pretty tt i could hardly recognise. oops.. =P anyway, talking abt pri sch mates, i saw serena on my way home from work last tue wor! someone who lives so near to me yet we've nvr met each other for years too. someone who we used to b v v close frens. & yes, she's really beautiful now; no wonder i keep hearing she's got many suitors. hope everything has been well for her all these years. =)

hav been keeping myself occupied for the past week. attended senior camp early this week- v tired perhaps because i've not been stretching my muscles regulary(or because i'm aging? o_O).. went for work as usual- glad tt inventory list formulated finally & hopefully no more changes! =) met up with my orthodontist- she commented tt i've made good progress! really? yeah! tts great! =D

i learn

i've been watching tv these days & realised the quality of local programmes has been improving. recently there's a drama, 'Rhapsody in Blue' which i dun used to really follow. i really love the story, the climax, the atmosphere. v real life, v reflective of many of us..

last fri, one of the main characters yirou said sth which i really felt enlightened. 'if u keep judging someone as being a bad person, u will always find him detestable & this will not allow u to uncover the true him.' i agree wif her. everyone is being judgemental; even when u find a man performing on streets, u may jus wonder if he is worthy of ur attn.

being judgemental is a way of being defensive. this is essential, but goin overboard will make the situation rather hostile. esp when u base the subject from a negative point of view, will u become too narrow-minded? y not 'go into the shoe & walk ard it'? y not open more avenues of explorations?

learning to accept is impt. accepting the way they jus r, then u would b able to understd better & figure out y this is the way they r. sure enuff this will not b easy & so explain for y 'handling interpersonal relationships is the hardest lesson in life'. i'm learning; this is a lifelong process. glad tt i'm learning though i may not b making significant progress. haha..

a wonderful show indeed. has been v enlightening. i tink learning calms a person's heart & makes the mind clearer. i hope so do u. =)

work- fun or stress?

wat a long day~~!! working can b fun yet tiring, esp for old ppl like me.. tink i need some calcium tablets? lolz.. X)

morning=> worked on the inventory list for characterisation room.. a total of 9 tables = 9 cabinets.. o_O the worst part was shifting the gigantic monitors out of the cabinet in squatting position (those cabinets are under the tables).. to worsen the situation, i hurt my ankle in the morning while rushing to work.. sobs~ endure & persevere!! at least my ankle din swell rite? haha.. think positively! =)

afternoon=> assigned to clean up casting room. a v v isolated room in sch.. i suppose if this is one of the mysterious destination to uncover in those orientation games, my og will b able to solve it with ease.. haha cos i noe the location!! =D anyway, i call it 'dusting room' (rhymes rite? =D) cos it has really been deserted for years (according to the techs). scrubbing the machine, mopping the floor, shifting heavy equipment parts (like coolie rite?) my sup even said the mopping water looks like stabucks coffee.. haha.. of course lah, wif a hardworking coolie ard to make the floor shiny! *ding ding*

anyway after a long day of 'summer cleaning', we could finally sit down & nua.. ahhzzz~~ actually we were waiting for the big boss to come inspect the room, but to no avail.. =P so we jus chit chat & i started playing wif my phone.. above is a pic of me & my collegue yi! both of us looked dead beat rite? though tired, this has been a gd exp cos i get to noe the sch better, the hidden places, the hidden equipments.. oh yes & the hidden hse spiders net.. hahaha.. oops~ =P kz.. no more spiders le, cos the sch has hardworking workers ard le.. lolz..

time to tuck in!! lolz.. hungry hungry wor! after a long walk in town, isn't it nice to jus settle down somewhere to fill an empty stomach? hehe.. soo happy ystd, li finally got her free day & i could finally meet her.. X) nvr feel tired wif u ard; there r always pleasant surprises & i can jus let my hair down & b myself.. yeah~ tts the way! =D

really appreciated the time we spent; short yet sweet. =) & the food tt u reco- salmon pepper rice. yummy yummy!! & its really fun; getting to cook my own food & getting some of it chao da.. still delicious okie.. hahaha~ touching it up wif the honey brown sauce, simply heavenly!! a big share enuff to get my stomach bloated too. lolz.. dun care le lah.. jus let it explode ba.. oops~

soo tired, hungry & sleepy.. but how come am i still in front of com at this hour? hmmz.. i aso dun noe.. =P

v tired=> hav been in town these days.. n i suppose walking all the way from orchard to ps is a gd way of exercise? then am i over-exercising? consecutively doin this like everyday.. my bones r splitting apart.. oh noz.. when did i became soo weak?!

v hungry=> din really hav a proper dinner tonite.. survived on sausage bread & milk tea.. oh yes!! quite a pleasant surprise to find those used-to-be-in-trend bubble tea shop in town.. & the biz seems to b gd! still need to queue for my drink & really worth the wait. =) i got myself the strawberry flavour & its really oiyishi~! i tink i'm falling for strawberries.. yummy yummy! but now my tummy starts growling after i've brushed. feeling nua liao.. at this stage i'm putting myself thru tink i'll b able to shed some wt rite? hehe~ try harder!! =P

v sleepy=> haven't been catching gd slps these days due to exam prep.. oops y did i remind myself abt this? hee~ tink my brain needs kitkat.. haha~ (taking a break) oops.. better turn in early so as to replenish energy for the town trip tml (again~) lucky i din finish exploring the town soo wun feel tt bored.. keke~ wan anz le wor.. summer hols part 1

hee~ long time din drop my entry le.. i'm still alive & kicking though.. keke~ jus feeling quite nua these days.. aja, aja, be strong!! =)

so wat hav i been bz lately neh? hmmzz... suddenly my mind came to a blank.. oh yupz.. have been attending classes & work.. routine lifestyle.. occasionally meeting up with a few gd frens for a simple dinner or window shopping. =)

talking abt window shopping, yes great sg sale is here.. finally!! wondering if it does worth the one-yr wait.. i was strolling the shopping aisles in town, but hardly could i make myself spend.. ironically, my shopping list is like super long.. perhaps the 'sales' or 'discounts' are merely part of decorations & dun serve any other purposes. *disappointed* both me & my frens shared the same sentiments.. =P

perhaps this has been a blessing in disguise.. cos i'm really super duper broke.. i dun tink my current job can support me.. may need to do more job search.. but given my lz trait, i wonder if i can handle more work.. haiz.. *disappointed* with myself.. =(

mehrajz' bday!!

this is one of the gatherings i went so far.. mehrajz' birthday celebration!! dated quite some time ago (election day) actually.. hee~ X)

super wet weather tt day.. & the chalet venue pretty ulu.. being unfamilar wif the plc, we actually missed 2 bus stops & got to 'stroll' in the rain.. not romantic if u wonder.. =P noticing mehraj from a distant view was like seeing an oasis in the wild.. lolz.. we were all soo exhausted, drenched & cold.. x_X

after washing up in the chalet, we stayed in an air-con room & started self-entertaining.. chit chatted, stoned & started taking many many photos.. we even started listing our classmates' names.. got 41 ppl in my class lor.. + my super short term memory, i din help much.. X) hmmz.. actually wana offer some help to mehrajz, but we aso dun noe wat we could do.. dun need to bbq, not familar wif her frens aso.. soo we better guai guai stayed in the room & waited for the finale to start.. hehe~

the buffet was delicious.. i liked the dessert.. they served chilled reddish-looking longan with syrup.. hmm i aso wonder how come longan is red.. either its artificial colouring or another breed tt i've nvr seen.. always a dessert lover.. =) soon after li finally reached the plc.. really worried for her.. we kept hearing thunder & outside rained soo heavily.. lucky she finally located us when we were goin out to fetch her.. safe & sound though drenched all over.. X)

after settling down we continued makaning & chit chatted till the bday song & cake cutting session! yeah! a super huge key-shaped cake! the ceremony's special; mehraj took small portions of cake & fed her family members vice versa.. touching moments.. we had her to open the prez we bot.. a set of glass earrings & necklace.. soo nice on her.. & its blue!! =) most imptly, hope she likes it.

soo many bday parties this yr round.. each one soo unique & special.. wat matters most is leaving fond memories in significant part of ur lives.. stay happy & blessed.
